Skin Scrubbers utilize ultrasound waves to gently and effectively cleanse the skin of impurities.  These devices are also used to permeate topical nutrients such as serums and creams deeper into the skin than achievable by a normal hand massage.  The use of ultrasound in skin care has been popular in European and Asian spas for a while and has only recently caught on in the United States.  Skin Scrubbers are becoming more preferred in spas and salons mainly because of the results they can accomplish.  Skin Scrubbers can easily be incorporated in many different skin care regimens and clients can feel and see a difference in their skin after the initial treatment.

The Science Behind the Technology

Ultrasound waves require a medium such as water to pass through.  During exfoliations, simply wet the skin with water.  Pass the front tip of the skin scrubber gently across the skin surface.  When the blade is glided along the skin, ultrasound waves are able to remove dirt, dead skin cells, oils, and other impurities from skin pores. You will actually be able to see these substances accumulate on the front end of the tip.  Skin Scrubbers make it easier to "dislodge" milia, blackheads, and whiteheads allowing for smooth and clean skin.

For product infusions, apply a thin layer of your preferred topical nutrient onto the skin and glide the flat front end of the blade along the skin.  Ultrasound waves create tiny temporary channels in the skin (smaller than a strand of hair) which allow for the serum or cream to permeate into the skin.  The waves also help to push the topical nutrient deeper into the skin where it is more effective and beneficial

Ultrasound waves also stimulate the production of collagen and elastin and reoxygenates skin cells. This produces the appearance of healthier skin that is more radiant, toned, and lifted.  Clients are able to feel and see these results during and after the treatment.

There are two different skin scrubbers available: tabletop skin scrubbers (Skin Spatula) and cordless portable skin scrubbers.  Our Skin Spatula is designed for professional use in spas and salons.  Cordless models are generally not as powerful as tabletop units since they run off of rechargeable batteries.
